Stuff to Make Slime – A General Check List

If you are planning on making some slime and you want your slime to work then you have to make sure that you have got the right ingredients. We will provide you with a checklist so that when you are next making slime, you have all the ingredients that you need to hand:

Standard Slime

The ingredients below will make classic slime. It’s easy to make and you can make it any color that you like:

  • Measuring Cup
  • Bowl
  • Teaspoon
  • Water
  • Borax Powder
  • Elmer’s White Glue (120 ml)
  • Food Colouring (Optional)

Glitter Slime

A fancy version of standard slime:

  • Water
  • Glitter Glue
  • Borax Powder

Magnetic Slime

This slime will react to a strong magnetic field. You will need to use neodymium magnets as standard magnets will not be strong enough to have any effect on this slime:

  • Elmer’s White glue
  • Iron Oxide Powder
  • Liquid Starch

Glow in the Dark Slime

Try some chemistry and make some thermochromic slime. Basically, slime that can changes colour depending on the temperature:

  • thermochromic pigment
  • Elmer’s white glue
  • Water
  • Liquid starch
  • Food colouring (optional)

Unicorn Slime

The best thing about homemade slime is that you can make whatever color or colors that you like:

  • Water
  • Liquid Starch
  • Elmer’s White Glue
  • Sequins and clutter
  • Food colouring

Soap Slime

Something that you’ll have made without even realising. If you want to make soap slime again you will need:

  • Soap
  • Jar
  • Water

Dish Soap Slime

Another easy slime to make is slime using dish soap:

  • Liquid dish soap (select the colour that you’d like your slime to be)
  • White Glue
  • Saline solution or salt water
  • glitter

Fluffy Slime

Fluffy slime has a great texture as it’s squishy and stretchy:

  • Baking soda
  • Saline solution
  • Glue
  • Shaving foam
  • Baby oil


Edible Slimes

Many of the above slimes do contain harsh chemicals e.g. borax. If you have a young child that you want to make slime for you may prefer to make slime which is ‘safer’ and more toddler-friendly. We will now provide you with a checklist for slimes which are edible and can be made from everyday ingredients that can be found in your kitchen:

Pudding Slime

  • Cornstarch
  • Instant pudding mix

Jello Slime

  • Sugar-free Gelatine
  • Water
  • Cornstarch

Chocolate Slime

  • Cocoa powder
  • Coconut milk
  • Cornstarch

Frosting Slime

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • White frosting
  • Sprinkles

Floam Slime

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Jello
  • Mini Marshmallows

Candy Slime

  • Cornstarch
  • Powdered sugar
  • Candy i.e. Starbursts

Glow in the Dark Slime

  • Tonic water
  • Cornstarch
  • Marshmallows

Gummy Bear Slime

  • Icing Sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • Gummy Bears
  • Coconut oil
