DIY Bubblegum Slime Recipe, How To Make and Ingredients

Nothing says fun more than bubblegum and slime. The great news is – now you can put them together and make your own DIY Bubblegum Slime! It’s very simple to make and uses inexpensive ingredients that you may already have at home or can purchase at any local grocery or drug store.

Best of all, this is a super-fun, kid-friendly DIY project you can make at home that is super popular right now! So, let’s get started!

What Ingredients Will I Need?

-1 cup Elmer’s white glue

-1 cup shaving cream

-4-5 teaspoons of cornstarch

-1 tablespoon Borax

-1 cup of hot water

-Foaming soap

-Hand lotion (optional, but will help make the slime stretchier)

-Pink or RedFood coloring-Mixing bowl

-Large spoon or spatula

-Plastic storage container with a tight-fitting lid

How Do I Do It?
Recipe:

Step 1: Mix together your slime activator. Place the tablespoon of Borax in the cup of hot water and mix together until it is completely dissolved. Set aside.

Step 2: Pour your glue into the mixing bowl and add about half of the shaving cream to the glue. Mix well.

Step 3: Add the cornstarch to the mixture, stirring well.

Step 4: Add a few squirts of foaming soap (about six or so) and mix well. You can use regular liquid soap if you want, but the foaming soap seems to give it a better consistency.

Step 5: Stir in a few squirts of hand lotion (about four) to make your slime stretchier.

Step 6: Add the food coloring. A little goes a long way, so add just a drop or two at first and check the color. Add a drop or two more at a time until you achieve the color you desire.

Step 7: Slowly add your slime activator to the mix. It is best to add one teaspoon at a time and mix it in well. Be sure not to just pour it in – too much activator will cause the slime to tear apart and become less stretchy. You will probably want around five to six teaspoons but check after adding each one until you get the consistency you want.

Step 8: Check to see if your slime feels too sticky. If so, add more shaving cream and mix until is it easier to work with.

That’s it! Now you can take your slime out of the bowl and play! When you are done using it, store it in an airtight container. It will keep longer if stored in the refrigerator.
